We were featured in the Australian Financial Review discussing how our global equities fund uses artificial intelligence and proprietary technology in our investment management process. As AI adoption accelerates across financial services, the article explores how fund managers and advisers are implementing AI agents whilst navigating regulatory frameworks and governance challenges.
Our co-founder and co-portfolio manager, Armina Rosenberg, explained how we've developed Taurient, our custom large language model that employs AI agents to support our equity research and portfolio management approach:
"Governance and transparency surrounding these AI systems are critical issues many are grappling with."
Taurient differentiates our approach by drawing on curated data sources rather than the entire web, enabling more reliable analysis. The system organises AI agents in specialised "rooms" to assess investment opportunities, analyse multilingual analyst reports, and generate comprehensive investment theses. However, final investment decisions remain with our portfolio managers, ensuring human judgement guides our process.
"Generic large language models are too quick to form the view and then they gather the evidence for that view. That's why most of the time, when you put in a prompt, the first answer you get is not the best answer you could get."
